Here we have uncovered the old one metre long 600mm diameter individual pipes that sat not far underground that linked the two lakes.
They had no seals fitted to them and were disjointed allowing the water to escape eroding the soils away underneath.
We have removed and disposed of them and removed a lot of concrete that covered them especially around the invert entrances at the top lake.
We then excavated a new trench line and installed a back up drainage to take away spring water ingressing into the trench.
Then we installed two rows of new six metre long by 600mm, twin wall pipes with news seals. One to link up from the upper lake to the new water
feature under construction and the other pipe from the upper lake served as an emergency outfall and went straight down to the lower lake.
