Refurbishment of Old Leaking Pond.

This Large Old Pond on a private property situated in the Blackdown Hills had been neglected over the years. We completely cleaned it out removing the residue water, overgrown plants, bamboo and gunerah and moved it to a field where it was levelled out to dry. Because it was leaking severely through the embankment and into the surrounding ground below we had to install a Liner.

Unfortunately the project took longer than antisipated due to the complications of finding Green Sand within the pond and surrounding area. This made it difficult for the machinery to stand in the bottom of the pond but we percevered and managed to completely clean it out and trim it up ready for the geo textiles and liner fitting. We also had to capture much spring water activity from within the pond which was taken away with a drainage system that was installed under the liner and then out falled into a chamber. As the water was clean a pump was installed into the chamber to pump the water back up into the pond to fill it and keep it's water levels during the summer months. 

Here are the stages of how the pond looked before we started, de silting the pond and then installing the liner and how it now looks finished with a new jetty and ready for planting.
